The Quait Chiel by Bill Thom

“A funny, rollicking, ‘flyting’” – John Glenday

SKU: 978-0-9926631-0-0 Category: Tags: , ,

This narrative poem, illustrated by Scott Simpson, follows the trials and tribulations of twa aul chiels as they try to head home from the pub one night. At first reminiscent of Burns’s great Tam o’Shanter, the Quait Chiel quickly moves into different territory as Jock and Wull find themselves embroiled in a series of increasingly sticky situations.

Full of humour, rhythm and adventure, the Quait Chiel is Bill Thom’s debut chapbook, written in his native Banffshire Doric.
