We currently publish pamphlets in two formats. Our main pamphlets are 32-pages long, which leaves approximately 27 pages for poetry. We also publish short-run micro-pamphlets, which can be anything from 8-16 pages. This format suits a longer single poem or a series of shorter poems.

Please note we are currently closed for submissions – for the first time ever! We need to catch up on everything we’ve got and work out what the next plan is. We’ll open things up again soon…

Saying that, we will always be open to Scots language submissions, as part of our founding mission to support, promote and advance the language.

We’re also still encouraging submissions to our Biggin Brigs series of pamphlets, which feature poetry in Scots, Gaelic and English. If you’re involved in a project that works across these three languages then please do get in touch.

So if you’re writing in Scots and want to submit, it would also be grand if you follow our pretty simple guidelines:

  • Please send us between three and five poems.
  • For micro-pamphlet consideration – please just send one poem, or a few short ones on a particular theme.
  • Please send your poems as a .doc, .docx or .txt file.
  • Please also include your name, a little background about yourself and where (or if!) you’ve had poems published before. It would be handy to know where you’re based too.

Take some time to get acquainted with what we do… of course we’d greatly encourage you to purchase some of our previous pamphlets to get a true flavour of the kind of work we’re interested in.

Our submissions email address is: submissions [at]
